Terms of service
The short version
The full terms below are what counts, but this is the shape of them.
- 1The free plan is free. Paid plans are R99 once-off per event or R199 a month for Pro.
- 2Cancel Pro any time; it runs to the end of the month you paid for.
- 3Seven days to change your mind on anything you have not used yet.
- 4Pullin never moves money between hosts and guests, and never charges you for a message after the fact.
These terms cover hosting on Pullin: creating an account, running events on the free plan, and buying a once-off event upgrade, a Pullin Pro subscription or a message top-up. They are written to be read, so if anything here is unclear, tell us and we will fix the wording.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Pullin is an event planning service at pullin.co.za and on WhatsApp. These terms are the agreement between you and the business that runs it, set out below, whenever you create a Pullin account, host an event, or buy a paid plan. Guests who only RSVP to an event do not need an account and are covered by the Acceptable use policy and the Privacy policy rather than by these terms.
The supplier
Name: SMRJ, trading as Pullin
Legal status: Private company, enterprise number 2026/235194/07
Email: hello@pullin.co.za
Website: pullin.co.za
By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you can enter into a binding agreement. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your sign-in secure and tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
2. The service, and what it is not
Pullin gives hosts an invitation page, a guest list, RSVPs over WhatsApp and the web, and planning tools such as a bring list, lift sharing, polls, photo walls and automated reminders. It is a coordination tool. The event itself, its venue, its safety and everything that happens there are the host’s responsibility, not ours.
- Pullin never handles money between hosts and guests. A host may display contribution details on an event page and guests may mark themselves as paid. That is a display and a tally; the money moves between the host and the guest directly, and Pullin is not party to it.
- Messages are sent on the host’s instruction. Automated reminders, updates and thank-you messages go to a guest only because the host turned them on for that event, and only to guests who RSVP’d. Every guest can stop them with one reply or one click.
- AI features suggest, they do not act. Writing help on paid plans drafts text for the host to edit, and the bot’s understanding of free-text replies only ever offers a guest buttons that run ordinary commands.
The free plan is free of charge. Its limits, and the limits of each paid plan, are set out below and on the pricing page.
3. Plans, and what each one includes
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | R0 | Two events, past ones included. Up to 25 going guests per event, plus-ones counted. The invitation page, RSVPs on WhatsApp and the web, bring list, lifts and polls. No automated reminders, no photo wall and no AI features. A host can delete an old event to make room. |
| Event upgrade | R99, once-off | One event, for the life of that event: up to 100 going guests, automated WhatsApp reminders and updates with 185 included WhatsApp messages, email notifications for guests who RSVP on the web, the photo wall, the post-event thank-you, and AI writing help up to a small included budget for that event. |
| Pullin Pro | R199 a month | Every event you host while the subscription is active, with up to 250 going guests per event, unlimited events, and all paid features. Messaging is pooled: 300 WhatsApp messages and 3,000 emails per calendar month across all your Pro events, and an AI budget per month across all of them. |
| Message top-up | R49 per 100 | 100 more automated WhatsApp messages, spent one message at a time once the plan’s included messages are used. On an upgraded event they belong to that event; on Pro they are shared across your Pro events. Unused top-up messages expire six months after purchase. |
A "going guest" is a person who said they are coming, including anyone they are bringing. When an event reaches its plan’s limit, new RSVPs join a waitlist rather than being refused, and move up as space opens. A host may set a lower limit for their own event, never a higher one.
Included messages exist to keep the service sustainable: each automated WhatsApp message costs us money with Meta. Messages are counted when they are sent. If an event runs out, reminders simply stop for that event until a top-up is bought; nothing is sent without an allowance to cover it, and no host is ever charged for a message after the fact.
4. Paying, renewing and cancelling
- Payments are processed by our payment provider, Paystack. Your card details go to them directly and never reach us. Prices are shown in South African rand at the point of purchase and include VAT whenever we are required to charge it.
- Event upgrades and top-ups are single payments, charged once when you buy them.
- Pullin Pro renews monthly on the day you subscribed, charged to the card you paid with, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops future charges; Pro features keep working on all your events until the end of the month you have already paid for, and you can restart before then without being charged twice.
- When Pro ends, your events return to the free plan. Nothing is deleted. We email you the day it happens, and an event that is over the free plan’s limits keeps its existing guests, waitlists new RSVPs and stops sending automated messages until it is upgraded again.
- If a renewal payment fails, Paystack retries it. If it still fails, Pro ends at the end of the paid period as if you had cancelled.
5. Refunds and cooling-off
Under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act you may cancel an online purchase within seven days without giving a reason, unless the service has already begun with your agreement. Here is how that works for each thing you can buy:
- Event upgrade: a full refund within seven days of purchase, as long as the event has not yet sent an automated message or used an AI generation. After that, or once a paid feature has been used, we refund at our reasonable discretion, with the cost of what was already used taken into account.
- Pullin Pro: cancelling in-app stops the next charge. We do not refund part of a month already paid for, because the features stay on for the whole of it. If you subscribed by mistake and used nothing in the first seven days, email us and we will refund the month.
- Message top-ups: a full refund within seven days if none of the 100 messages has been used.
- Where we cancel or suspend your account for a breach of these terms or the Acceptable use policy, no refund is due for the remainder of a plan.
To ask for a refund, email hello@pullin.co.za with the payment reference from your billing history or your Paystack receipt. We reply within two business days and refund to the original card. Nothing in this section takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
6. Your content, your guests and your responsibilities
- You keep ownership of everything you put on Pullin: event details, photos, the text you write. You give us permission to store, display and send it as the service needs in order to run your event, and for nothing else.
- You are the responsible party under POPIA for the guest information your event collects. Use it for that event only, do not export it into marketing lists, and respect a guest who asks you to remove them. Our Privacy policy explains exactly what you receive.
- Hosts approve every photo before it appears on an event page and are responsible for what they approve. Do not approve a photo of someone who would object, and take a photo down if the person in it asks.
- Only invite people you know or who asked to be invited. The Acceptable use policy is part of these terms, and breaking it can end your account.
- Co-hosts you add see your guest list exactly as you do. Add only people you trust with it.
7. What we promise, and the limits of it
We work to keep Pullin fast and available, and we will tell you when something has gone wrong. But Pullin depends on WhatsApp, email delivery, card networks and cloud providers that we do not control, and it is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- A WhatsApp message or an email can be delayed or undelivered for reasons on the carrier’s side. Reminders are a convenience for your guests, not a guarantee that each one is reached.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
- None of this limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, or for our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
8. Suspension and ending the agreement
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page. It takes effect immediately, with no undo: your events, their guest lists, photos and payment records go with it, and an active Pro subscription is cancelled.
- We may suspend an event, or an account, that breaks these terms or the Acceptable use policy. A suspended event shows guests nothing; a suspended account loses access at once. You can appeal by email and a person will read it, usually within two business days.
- We may change these terms. Material changes are announced at least 14 days before they take effect, by email to account holders and on this page. Price and allowance changes never apply to a purchase already made.
9. Law, disputes and getting hold of us
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. Talk to us first: most problems are a quick email away from being fixed. If a consumer dispute is not resolved, you may refer it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission.
Records of your purchases are in your account’s billing history for as long as the account exists. These terms were last updated on the date shown at the top of this page; earlier versions are available on request.
